Rubelli | Aida

Silk fabric in which the decoration is composed of various typical elements of the classical repertoire, pleasingly combined with others that reference the taste for the exotic and for chinoiserie. Motifs from classical oriental clothing appear alongside telamons, masks and cornices. With its metallic weave and the sheen of the silk ground, the Aida lampas is the manifestation of refined and elegant ornamentation, typical of the first decades of the eighteenth century. Even the colour scheme was taken from the typical classical palette.
